Tough track, challenging weather for Cypress Teck Coast Zone U14 event

(West Vancouver, BC) – The Cypress Ski Club hosted a Teck Coast Zone U14 competition on March 4th and 5th, 2017. Preparing the course in the days leading up to the race became very challenging with 40 cm of new snow. The race was held on Coyote 7, a steep and difficult course. Even with snowy conditions racers from the coast zone persevered and posted some fast times. Saturday's schedule comprised of a two-run GS race and was followed by a two-run slalom on Sunday.

Medals were awarded on Saturday and Sunday in front of the Olympic Rings. We were fortunate enough to have the sun pop out for Saturday’s awards.

All in all, the races at Cypress this weekend ran very smoothly and a fun time was had by all participants.  The event was well attended and Cypress Mountain was very helpful in making the event a success with their excellent support of the Cypress Ski Club and the small army of volunteers who worked tirelessly to run the races.
